Western Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis)
First breeding record of Westeern Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) was confirmed by Georgi Gerdzhikov, Yordan Vassilev and Lyubomir Profirov at Trud Fishponds, Plovdiv Region. Two pairs started breeding in a heronry at the end of May 2021. On June 16th one juvenile bird was observed in one of the nests and on June 18th two more in the second. By July 11th all juveniles were nearly fully fledged and could freely walk on the branches around the nest.
